Why did you choose to play the goalie position?
In elementary school, my coach told me that I wasn’t fast enough to play the field, so he put me in the goal. I’ve loved it ever since!

What do you personally do to reset after a goal is scored?
On the top of my cleats I have written on them “Show Greatness”. I just look down at my cleats, read those words, take a deep breath, and I’m ready for the next shot.

What was the hardest thing thus far that you had to learn as a goalie? The hardest thing that I’ve learned as a goalie is that if my team loses, that all of the responsibility for that loss does not go entirely on me. As I’ve grown older and more experienced as a player, I’ve realized that it is a team effort, and that the whole team shares the loss, not just the one player.

What was your greatest achievement as a goalie?
My greatest achievement as a goalie was getting over 150 saves in my sophomore season on Varsity. I was on the road to get 200 saves that season, but unfortunately I was injured and missed the last 4 games of the season.

What is your largest strength as a goalie and/or leader?
My greatest strength as a goalie/leader is picking up my team at halftime if we are down. I point out the things that I notice that we need to focus on in the second half and get everyone’s spirit up before we go back in.

Who has inspired you the most in your life?
My mom has inspired me the most in life, because she works a full-time job and is always very busy, but always seems to find time to see all of my games and is supportive of everything that I do in life. Her strength is also inspiring to me, because even when bad things happen in life she doesn’t let it faze her, and she keeps pushing even harder to achieve her goals.

What do you hope to become – career?
In the future, I hope to become an orthopedic surgeon who is also fluent in Spanish.
